ECOWEB, represented by its Executive Director Regina “Nanette” Salvador-Antequisa, together with another sclr practitioner from Somalia and cso leader from Ukraine, joined global leaders, humanitarians, and philanthropists in the intimate high-level dinner: “Mobilising Influence, Capital, and Solidarity” held on September 24, 2025 in New York City.
The gathering, co-hosted by United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher and Minderoo Foundation Founder Dr. Andrew Forrest, served as a platform for dialogue among government officials, business leaders, civil society representatives, and philanthropic institutions. It took place alongside the launch of the Article 109 Coalition- a bold global initiative calling for reform of the United Nations Charter to strengthen its relevance and effectiveness in addressing today’s challenges.
The event highlighted the urgency of building stronger alliances to address humanitarian crises, conflict, and institutional strain. Participants were invited to contribute to an open exchange on how influence, capital, and solidarity can be mobilized to ensure crises are met with accountability, resources, and local-level innovation.
ECOWEB’s participation in this international conversation underscores its commitment to amplifying the voice of grassroots communities in global humanitarian and development spaces. By engaging in these platforms, ECOWEB continues to champion locally led action and advocate for more inclusive partnerships that recognize the role of community-driven initiatives in achieving sustainable resilience.
For ECOWEB, involvement in such a dialogue is not only a recognition of its work on the ground but also an opportunity to connect local realities with global agendas. This participation helps advance ECOWEB’s goals of promoting inclusive governance, strengthening resilient communities, and ensuring that the most vulnerable are at the center of humanitarian and development action.
