ECOWEB CALL FOR APPLICANTS FOR OPEN POSITIONS OF THE Children in Action for Resilience, Education, and Peace (CARE for Peace) Project

PROJECT BACKGROUND

ECOWEB is implementing a project entitled 1048 CARE for PEACE sponsorship program for children of Barangay Cabasaran, Marawi City. The project aims to contribute to quality education and support to the holistic development of children in Marawi City. 

PROJECT SITE

The CARE for Peace Project is to be implemented in Barangay Cabasaran, Islamic City of Marawi. BARMM

PROJECT FRAMEWORK

Target Groups: All children, aged 5-12, have equal access to quality education. Community development and Working in various institutions that have important roles in achieving the project goals and objectives.

Project Goal:

By the end of the project, the project will improve the access of the marginalized young children in conflict-affected Marawi City to quality education.

Sub-Goals/Outcomes: By the end of the project, it is expected to achieve the following:

  1. Assisted children access quality education and support formal and non-formal education initiatives for young children of Marawi City.
  2. Increase community’s value of early childhood education.

Title : Community Direct Worker

Employment Contract                 :             1-year period (renewable based on performance)

Screening process                         :             Interview, written exam, and background checking

Duty Station                                   :             Marawi City

Type of work                                  :             70% fieldwork; 30% linkaging and admin/office work

Start date                                       :             Immediate 

Responsibilities:

Ensure the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project, and ensures quality implementation of planned activities and achievement of targets on time. Ensure protection of children’s rights and the implementation of the project and effective coordination with the local authorities and management. Mobilize complementary resources as needed and planned. 

Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required

Education: College Graduate preferably in any of the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Community Development, Social Work, or Graduate in Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Sociology, Political Science or History.

Minimum Experience Level:

  • Significant experience (minimum 2 years) working in community-based sustainable development and particularly with government agencies, construction and children;
  • Experience working through partnerships, networking, advocacy and demonstrating leadership;
  • Experience on preparing plans, reports and documenting activities practices. 
  • Experience in dealing with Local Government units at barangay and City levels.
  • Experience on preparing plans, reports and documenting activities practices. 

Key Competencies 

  • Strong skills in drafting documents and reports of high quality and clarity;
  • Drafting documents and reports using MS Word, Excel and making presentations using Power Point
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to work quickly and to meet deadlines;
  • Familiar with Children’s rights, basic construction strategy its Implementing Rules and Regulations
  • Team leader and ability to work as a team;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including across cultural contexts
