Project Overview:
ECOWEB is implementing a 6-month project funded by ChildFund Japan Philippine Branch to construct a permanent one-storey building with two classrooms, basic learning amenities, and a WASH facility under the CARE for Peace Project. This initiative aims to create a conducive environment for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) for young children in Barangay Cabasaran, Marawi City. The project seeks to contribute to quality education and support the holistic development of children in Marawi City, while also ensuring sustainability through the active participation and support of the community. Additionally, ECOWEB is preparing to expand the child education sponsorship program in Marawi City during this period.
Objectives of the Position:
The Community Development Facilitator (CDF) will play a pivotal role in the implementation of the CARE for Peace Project. The primary responsibilities of the CDF include community engagement, project monitoring, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring the sustainability of project outcomes. The CDF will also support the preparation and expansion of the child education sponsorship program in Marawi City.
Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement and Mobilization:

Facilitate community meetings to effectively inform and engage local stakeholders about the project.

Encourage active participation from community members in all project activities.

Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, parents, teachers, government and non-government agencies operating in the target areas, and other key stakeholders.

Project Implementation and Monitoring:
-
Assist the Project Manager in the monitoring, coordination and supervision of the construction of the school building, ensuring it meets project specifications and timelines.

Monitor the progress of project activities, ensuring they align with the project plan.
-
Regularly report on project progress, challenges, and successes thru the Project Manager and to the assigned technical monitoring officer to the project.

Coordination and Liaison:

Coordinate with local government units, educational authorities, and other relevant organizations to ensure smooth project implementation.

Serve as the primary point of contact between the community and the project team.

Support for Child Education Sponsorship Program:
-
Assist in identifying and documenting potential beneficiaries for the child education sponsorship program.

Facilitate the collection of necessary data and documentation for the expansion of the child education sponsorship program.

Sustainability and Capacity Building:

Promote community ownership of the project to ensure sustainability beyond the project period.

Organize capacity-building activities for community members to support the maintenance and utilization of project facilities.

Qualifications:
-

A Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, Education, or a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in community development work, preferably in education or child-focused projects.

Ability to represent the organization, demonstrating a strong belief in ECOWEB values, ethics, and mission.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in project monitoring, documenting activities, reporting and in preparing plans.

Experience in relating with LGUs and government agencies.

Knowledge of the local context of Marawi City is an advantage.

Proficiency in local languages and dialects is desirable.
