In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the Indigenous leaders, women, youth, and community innovators who continue to protect their ancestral domains, sustain their cultures, and lead their communities toward a more resilient and sustainable future.
During “Kalambuan para sa Kadaghanan: WEAVING RESILIENCE – Learning from the Ground, Sustaining the Future,” our community partners from the IP Resilience Project, and now the ECOSEAD project shared their experiences and insights on ancestral domain conservation, climate resilience, culturally sensitive development, and sustainable livelihoods.

Their stories reflect the many ways Indigenous communities are taking the lead – from protecting forests, lakes, and ancestral lands, to safeguarding cultural traditions, creating sustainable enterprises, and opening opportunities for Indigenous youth.
The IP Resilience Project of ECOWEB was generously supported by Help Germany, BMZ – German Cooperation, and the German Relief Coalition (ADH). Their partnership has contributed to strengthening the capacities of Indigenous communities and supporting locally led initiatives for resilience, conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and ancestral domain governance.
As we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor not only the contributions of Indigenous Peoples, but also their leadership, knowledge, rights, culture, and vision for their communities and future generations.
