On October 10, 2025, two powerful earthquakes struck the provinces of Cebu and Davao Oriental, causing widespread devastation and displacing thousands of families. Homes have collapsed, livelihoods have been lost, and communities continue to grapple with fear and uncertainty as aftershocks persist.
As of October 12, reports indicate that more than 314,000 families (over 1.1 million individuals) have been affected across the two provinces. In Cebu, at least 74 people lost their lives, 559 were injured, and 71,996 houses were damaged—many beyond repair. In Davao Oriental, 8 people were killed, 395 injured, and over 2,000 homes sustained damage.
In the spirit of solidarity and compassion, ECOWEB calls on everyone to stand with the affected families in Cebu and Davao Oriental – to help rebuild their homes, restore their livelihoods, and bring hope to communities striving to recover from the devastating earthquakes.
