
The Farm Development Facilitator plays a crucial role in disseminating knowledge and technologies to farmers in the IP communities.
The Farm Development Facilitator (FDF) is responsible in ensuring the implementation of and ensuring effective and efficient implementation of farm development and crop diversification plans of organized SHGs and/or PGs in the FPG SEEDIC Project areas.
Under the supervision of the assigned Program Manager /Farm Development Officer, the Farm Development Officer will be at the EcoWEB office in Iligan City where she/he is required to render 70% of work time on field work and 30% for office works including planning, reporting, liquidations of cash advances, meetings, coordination works, and other paper works
Key Responsibilities
- Needs Assessment and Analysis: Assess the status and cap-abilities of the farming groups as organizations and as individual; facilitate identification and analysis of needs and problems of farmer organizations and the IP community in general;
- Development and Implementation of Farm Development Programs: Designs, plans, and implements extension programs, projects, and activities to address the identified needs and problems. Facilitation of farm development planning – Facilitate farm development participatory planning; ensure continual improvement in the planning-do-check-act cycle;
- Facilitate provision of assistance in the implementation of the farm development plan that may include but not limited to establishment and management of demo farms and nurseries.
- Facilitate Provision of Technical Assistance: Facilitate or coordinate provision of technical guidance, advice, and support to farmers, IP communities on climate-smart agriculture including but not limited to crop production, animal husbandry, soil conservation, and farm management.
- Coordinate Conduct of Training and Capacity Building: Organizes and conducts training programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance the knowledge, skills, and capacities of farmers, and IP communities.
- Guide PGs in the organizational or individual registrations including DOLE registration, completion of RSBSA profiling, and cooperative registration where applicable;
- Assist in the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Program at the community level.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and impact of extension programs and activities.
- Facilitate establishment and updating of farm development databased;
- Ensure monitoring, recording and documentation of implementation and outputs of the plan at the level of the farmer organizations and PGs;
- Prepare Reports and Documents: Prepares and submits reports, documents, and other materials as required by the organization or funding agencies.
- Perform other necessary tasks for the proper implementation, management, and administration of the project, and other institutional programs.
